About Genevieve

Genevieve Kingsford is a Melbourne-born singer and actor who has built an international career telling stories through music. Known for her expressive soprano voice and emotionally resonant performances, she brings nuance, vulnerability, and authenticity to every role she inhabits.

Trained at the London School of Musical Theatre (graduating with a High Distinction), Genevieve has gone on to perform in major commercial musicals and operatic works across Australia, the UK, and Asia. Her vocal versatility spans classical and contemporary styles, underpinned by Bel canto training and a deep commitment to storytelling through song.

Reviews

  • For me, the undoubted star of the show is Genevieve Kingsford as Fiona. After time away working in England she gave a knockout performance in last year’s The Light in the Piazza, but her charismatic Fiona and superb singing will showcase her to thousands of people during the run of Brigadoon.

  • … The story of the original ‘My Fair Lady’ […] is done flawlessly. Genevieve Kingsford is both vulnerable and sassy as Eliza Doolittle. Her convincing portrayal of Eliza’s transformation from pauper to practically princess is thoroughly impressive. Andrew Cullimore’s […] chemistry with Genevieve Kingsford’s Eliza was electric and kept me on the edge of my seat.

  • Genevieve Kingsford has an exhilarating soprano with a gorgeous crystalline tone. Kingsford’s delivery of Clara’s I wish song ‘The Beauty Is’ sets the standard for an evening of wonderful singing. An equally strong actress, Kingsford portrays Clara’s nervy meltdowns with a chilling sense of truth and a complete absence of melodrama.

  • Pristine soprano Genevieve Kingsford delights as high-strung cousin Phoebe D’Ysquith. Delivering the evening’s most beautiful singing, Kingsford nails Phoebe’s foray into operatic ornamentation in “Inside Out.”

  • Genevieve Kingsford is delicate and wondrous as Hodes, the former love of Avigdor who finds herself falling in love with Yentl’s male alter-ego Anshl, and is convincing enough that we believe Yentl/Anshl when he/she falls in love with her in return.

  • Of the supporting cast […] the honours must go to [Noah] Mullins as Jean-Michel and [Genevieve] Kingsford as Anne. Both performers had beautiful vocal work and were a delight in their interactions with each other and their parents.
